NEW FRIDAY DINNER VENUE
The 2012 Pre-Tour Dinner will be held at the Whistle Stop Tavern In New
Gisborne, ample secure parking is available.
CHANGE
TO SUNDAY EVENT
At their June meeting the organising committee of the Grand Tour voted
unanimously to change the arrangements for the post Tour event. This
will now be a picnic at the John Aitken Reserve in Gisborne. The
proximity to the Olde Time Sunday Market will allow Grand Tourists to
purchase provisions inexpensively and negates the need for participants
to move their vehicles. There is also the full range of takeaway food
available at the market or across the road. Barbecue and toilet
facilities are available in the park as is limited shelter. The change
was decided upon after discussions with some of the participants from
previous years. This pleasant Sunday morning car display has been
renamed Picnic in the Park, participating
vehicles are still eligible for the President’s choice trophy.
TRIUMPH
TO BE FEATURED MARQUE IN 2012
Planning has commenced for the 2012 Grand Tour with that maker of
British sports cars and classic saloons Triumph to be the featured make.
The usual diverse range of makes and models at least 25 years of age
will be eligible as will younger rare or exotic beasts.
